For the next two incredibly long months, the world outside "Asha Sadan" orphanage kept moving forward. The sun rose and set, the city traffic bustled, and the seasons began to slowly change. But for Diya, it felt like time was completely frozen. She felt like she was standing perfectly still, trapped in the single, dark, horrifying day that had stolen her baby and her peace.
Because of the intense physical and emotional trauma she had suffered, the doctors had ordered two full months of strict bed rest. They said her body needed to heal, but more importantly, her mind needed a completely peaceful and safe environment to recover from the shock. The decision was made. Diya would stay at the orphanage for a while, surrounded by the familiar sights and sounds of her childhood.
